HIGH SPEED STEELS
HIGH SPEED STEELS
The development of high speed steels begins with the product Mushet obtained in 1860 by hardening the tungsten-manganese steel. The machining possibilities of these steels could not be fully evaluated until 1900, when Taylor and White gave the good news of high speed steel.
High speed steels are materials that have the feature of removing chips even at high cutting speeds and can maintain their hardness at high temperature for a long time. In order to gain these properties, it is necessary to add alloying elements in suitable proportions and to provide suitable heat treatment conditions.
Expected Features
• Clean and homogeneous microstructure
• High hardness to be achieved by heat treatment
• High toughness
• Very high abrasion resistance
• Resistance to high temperatures at high cutting speeds
• Suitable for wire erosion cutting, welding, PVD and CVD coating

Delivery form : Annealed, 260HB
AISI:M2 / JIS: SKH 51
Usage Areas : It is the standard high speed steel with high hardness and toughness. It is used in all cutter milling, drill, die cut, brooch crochet and some cutting molds. Suitable for wire erosion cutting, welding, PVD and CVD coating.

Delivery form : Annealed, 260HB
AISI: M 35 / JIS: SKH 55
Usage Areas : It is high speed steel containing 5% cobalt element in its structure. It has the ability to maintain its hardness at high temperatures. There are areas of use such as hobbing mills, profile burs, drill bits, which require higher wear resistance. Suitable for wire erosion cutting, welding, PVD and CVD coating.

Delivery form : Annealed, 260HB
AISI: M 42 / JIS: SKH 59
Usage Areas : It is a high speed steel with 8% cobalt element that can reach very high hardness and maintain this hardness in the working environment. Many wear cutters, brooches and scissors blades are widely used since their abrasion resistance is very high. Suitable for wire erosion cutting, welding, PVD and CVD coating.

Delivery form : Annealed, 280HB
AISI: M 45 / JIS: SKH 57
Usage Areas : It is a high speed steel with 10% cobalt element that can resist very high hardness, resist the heat released in the working environment and maintain its current hardness. Its hardness and abrasion resistance is quite high compared to other high speed steels. It has common uses such as band saws, milling cutters, drill bits. Suitable for wire erosion cutting, welding, PVD and CVD coating.
